Yesterday we went out to the MetroWest Humane Society and ended up going home with this guy:
He hasn’t told us his name yet, but he’s got the largest paws I’ve seen in a very long time. He’s also friendly, calm, and playful. He spent most of the past 24 hours hiding in different parts of the house (including having to be pulled out from inside the couch), but doesn’t mind sitting with us (or on us) and came out and curled up on the bed for a little while during the night. We’ll let you know his name. In the meantime, he does well with people; interested parties should contact us to find out when visiting hours are.
Edit: For those interested, MetroWest currently has about 100 cats and kittens (too cute!), and are effectively out of room. They are in the middle of a much needed expansion project, and can use donations of money, food, or willing homes for needy animals. We say several wonderful animals there, including a 6 year old girl who was remarkeably mild and started purring almost as soon as she was picked up. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a cat, or jsut looking to do some Good Works check them out.
